Buy, configure, build, or combine: the real AI architecture decision
Most valuable enterprise workflows do not fit neatly into a software purchase or a custom build. The right answer is usually composed.
Buy what is already solved
Commodity capabilities should not become custom engineering projects. Mature products can provide identity, content systems, communication channels, search, observability, and specialized workflow functions faster than a new build.
Build the differentiating layer
Custom development belongs where the company has unique policy, data, decisions, user experience, or operational advantage. That layer should connect existing systems rather than duplicate them.
Combine around one accountable outcome
The enterprise should not have to coordinate every model, platform, and implementation vendor itself. A deployment partner can compose the system while preserving clear ownership, evaluation, and portability across the stack.
